1. Summary Demographics is the study of demographic dynamics, and demographic analysis can relate to small groups defined by criteria such as society as a whole or education and ethnicity. Demographics are necessary to explain sociological phenomena on a macro and/or social level. Demographic analysis is a powerful tool for explaining many sociological phenomena. Demographics rely primarily on census and huge datasets derived from registration statistics such as birth, death and marriage registration. Developing demographic trends requires large datasets over time. It remains difficult to collect reliable demographic data in many countries, especially developing countries. 2.
