A relatively new area of research in the social sciences has focused on technology, including cellphones, video games, virtual worlds, social Technology and the Internet have profoundly changed every aspect of society. They have driven changes in globalization, information dissemination, and social interaction. They have also changed the way people communicate, their social networks, their work patterns, and their entertainment. Sociologists need to focus on these areas to gain insight into social change and new forms of human behavior. Researchers also need to pay attention to the ethical and social implications of technological developments in order to guide the development of technology and to respond to possible problems that may arise.

A virtual world is a computer-simulated digital environment in which people can create virtual identities and engage in a variety of activities and interactions. There are different types of virtual worlds, including online games, social virtual reality, and virtual communities, and the role of virtual worlds in meeting people's social, recreational, and emotional needs is emphasized.

3. Discussion point

There must be adverse effects of virtual worlds, technology and the Internet, so do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
