Summary

In Ray Kurzweil's TED Talk, he introduces the accelerating power of technological advancement and his predictions for the future, arguing for a closer convergence of humans and technology. This lecture provides an interesting intuition about technology, relationships with society, and the way we look at the future. He argues that the rate of technological advancement is increasing as an exponential function, and presents several examples and graphs to illustrate this. One of his most famous predictions is about the rapid development of mobile technology, the Internet, and computers. He emphasizes that the development of modern technology is closely related to human evolution. As the human brain evolves with excellent performance in processing information, it explains that through this evolution, humans have the ability to develop information technology. He makes predictions about how technology will evolve over the next few years in line with this exponential growth trend. His typical prediction is that the emergence of artificial intelligence and the difference between computers and humans gradually disappear. He introduces the concept of Singularity, which means that technological development is rapidly accelerating and artificial intelligence surpasses human intelligence. He predicts that Singularity will arrive in the middle of the 21st century. One of the most interesting arguments in his talk is the argument for a closer convergence between humans and technology. He believes that the fusion of human intelligence and machine intelligence can solve human problems and create a better society. Taken together, his lecture gives us an understanding of the remarkable pace of technological progress, future predictions, and the interaction and convergence between humans and technology. The lecture offers exciting experiences for those interested in future technologies, artificial intelligence, and human evolution.

Realization

One of the interesting arguments is that we need to create a better society through close convergence between humans and technology. I thought society had already developed a lot in that the convergence of human intelligence and machine intelligence was expected to enable innovative solutions for mankind, but I felt awe in this part because I felt that there was no end to development.
