Summary

Perception of the limits of modern democracy: Pia Mancini points out that the current democratic system is not adapting to the changes of the Internet era. This allowed me to recognize the limits of democracy and understand the need to pursue change. It was notable that the Internet and social media platforms were used to strengthen communication and promote civic participation. Her ideas show the possibility of implementing effective information sharing and decision-making processes in modern society. She helps citizens become more active in setting agendas and making decisions through a project called DemocracyOS. This allowed me to experience the importance of participatory democracy and how it could be realized. Her ideas question existing political systems and procedures, suggesting that they should change with modern society and technological development. Recognizing the need for these changes is an important factor in the development of democracy. This lecture reminds us that cooperation is important in solving problems and issues in today's global community. The Internet and technology are providing an environment where people can communicate and cooperate with each other across borders.
To sum up, this TED talk presents the limitations of modern democracy and the ways to overcome them. I think it was a good opportunity to think about ways to improve the development of democracy and civic participation through the lecture.
