1. Summary

Gender and Sex

Gender means the person's social location based on sociocultural factors. Sex means the person's status based on biological and medical factors. The person who follow their sex and gender is cisgender and the person who doesn't is transgender. Many people think that the sex is easily determined but there are intersex people who is not easily designated as male or female. The current society keep make people follow the gender role since they are babies. They can ask to play with certain toys or being heard the roles of them. But the gender are very fluid things so you can find the people like drag queens( men who wears 'feminine' clothes).

Sexism

The term sexism refers to various meanings. But it can be summarized into this, the discrimination against the certain person based on their perceived gender or sex. Sexism against the female often called as 'male chauvinism'.(Chauvinism means the extreme bigotry and hate against the other group. ) This kinds of thoughts are based on the extreme essentialism the ideology that the person can be understand by the group they are belonging and it's characteristics are unchanged. The sexism exist various forms according to the some scholars. For example there are more rich man than rich woman and there are more male sports player than female and the female receive more sexual violence than male.

Gender Socialization 

Many researchers study why Sexism happened often say that this is because of the 'gender socialization'. According to them as the parents make their child to follow the certain gender role since they know the sex of the baby and the social images provided in school and so on the gap between gender occurs. But it can also caused by the biological factors and in some cases one is more influential than the other and sometimes the both are causing it. 

Theories

In this topic the Structural Functionalism often criticized as"approach for supporting the status quo and condoning the oppression of women" or "promoting the the "male/female" or "XX/XY" mythology". Conflict theory on the other hand criticized the status quo and try to change it in to more equal relationship. Symbolic Interaction theories try to examine the the varied meanings and constructions of gender over time and space. And they try to discover the origin of the belief on certain gender. The feminist generally use two tools to examine this topic, Patriarchy and Intersectionality. The patriarchy theory suggest male and the people who perceived as a male get the privilege in the society. The intersectionality theory suggest that the sexism can be related with the racial and age, sexuality and wealth.  

2. Discussion

For me it was surprising when I found that in the western society the people who called themselves as "non binary" existed. And although now the many western governments recognized this concepts, cultural war on this is happening in western society. And it influenced korea a lot. Although Republicans in United States now support LGBT community they against the so call "gender ideology". And it influenced the korean conservatives. The some of the korean conservatives now arguing that 'Gender equality'(성평등) is a wrong term because it means that there are more Gender than Man and Woman. So they encouraged to use 'Dual Gender Equality'(양성평등)

I against the all of hate and discrimination against the nonbinary people but disagree on both the mordern "liberal" LGBTQ movement and the "conservatives" who against that. Firstly we are living in the world that still inequality based on the biological sex is existing. So we should be more careful when we make polices like 'Self-ID' laws in the west like UK and so on. But the liberal western lgbt movement are acting so clumsy(my native language is not English so if that word is very offensive word I am not mean to do it). And the conservatives are acting so outdated. The non binary people existed when we look at pre-colonial India, America, Samoa and even European nations like Finland. It is idiotic against this. 

South korea is now entering the debates about this. And I hope koreans debate more rationally than in the west.
