 1.summary

 : Symbolic interactionism is worked to communicate between people. At this time, symbol can be understood even if they are not explained separately by putting the same meaning on something, which helps better interaction between people. A representative example of a symbol is language.

This has been talked about by various scholars such as George Herbert Mead and Herbert Blumber in sociology. They focused on people meaning to physical reality rather than looking at it as it is. This is not only for scholars, but also for everyone in society.


2.interesting point

It was interesting that it was not to accept the physical phenomenon as it is, but to accept the meaning given to the physical phenomenon. I wondered if there could be a society where symbols do not exist and I was curious about the idea that all social phenomena can be seen as created by humans.

What would happen if there were no symbols in society?

    Difficulty communicating: Symbols are the main elements of communication, including language, symbols, gestures, etc. Without symbols, communication among members of society can be significantly restricted. There will be difficulties in communication and understanding.

    If there were no symbols, today's society would not be so convenient and fast, such as the straight line on the road, turning symbols, which greatly facilitate our traffic. Without symbols, our life would be boring and inconvenient. Everything is worse than it is now.
