 1. Summary

Social networks are social structures composed of nodes (usually individuals or organizations) that are linked by one or more specific types of interdependencies. Social network analysis looks at social relationships from the perspective of nodes and ties. Nodes are individual participants in a network, and ties are relationships between participants. There can be multiple ties between nodes. Research in many academic fields has shown that social networks operate at many levels, from the family to the national level, and play a key role in determining how problems are solved, how organizations function, and how successful individuals are in achieving their goals.

2. Interesting point

Levels of analysis of social networks can be conducted at three levels: micro, meso and macro:

1) Micro level: The micro level focuses on the behavior and interaction of individuals in social networks, such as their social network usage behavior, the strength and quality of their network relationships, etc.

(2) Meso level: The meso level focuses on the structure and interactions at the group and organizational levels, such as the formation and evolution of communities and the analysis of social networks in organizations.

(3) Macro level: The macro level focuses on the structure and interaction of social networks at the level of society as a whole, such as the interaction of economic or other resource transfers of large populations.

In cluster analysis, these three levels are interdependent, and the corresponding level can be chosen according to the purpose of the analysis and the research question.
