W9.1Government---CAI YAYU
1. Summarize
Government and sociology are closely
related, as government is a form of social organisation and sociology is the
study of social organisation and social behavior.
Government is an institution that governs
and organised society, maintaining it by making laws and policies, providing
public services and maintaining social order. Government derives its powers
from the mandate of society and is also required to assume the responsibilities
and obligations of society. As such, the government's actions and decisions are
monitored and evaluated by society.
Sociology studies issues of social organisation, social structure, social interaction and social change, covering a wide range of political, economic, cultural and psychological aspects. Sociology can help us understand various issues in society, including political systems, social mobility and cultural transmission. At the same time, sociology can also help the government to better understand social phenomena and formulate more effective policies and measures in order to better maintain social order and promote social progress.
Therefore, government and sociology are interdependent and mutually reinforcing. The government needs the results of sociological research to improve its own governance, while sociology needs the support and recognition of the government to promote its own development.
2. Interesting point
A federal system is a political system in which political power is decentralized between the central government and individual local governments, each of which has independent political and self-government powers, with some collaboration and checks and balances between them.
In a federal system, the central government is usually responsible for national level matters such as defense, foreign affairs, monetary and economic policy, while local governments are responsible for their own regional matters such as education, health, transport, environmental protection, etc. This decentralized system allows for a certain degree of responsiveness to the needs of different regions and avoids the inequality and tyranny that can result from excessive centralization of power.
