W8.1 Economic_sociology, Socioeconomics

1) Summarize

Economic sociology emerged in the 19th century by William Stanley Jevons. Economic sociology is the intersection of economics and sociology. Economic sociology can be classified into classical and modern meanings.

In the classical sense, economic sociology emphasizes the role of economic structures and institutions in society and the impact of society on the nature of economic structures and institutions. It also explains how economic sociology has developed with examples such as Talkmill, Marx, and Durkhem.

Economic sociology in the modern sense focuses on social interaction compared to classical. The characters that influence modern economic sociology are really diverse. In modern times, attempts are being made to analyze economic sociology in connection with the overall part of society, not just mathematically.

2) Interesting point

I think one of the most important parts of society is the economy. In order for society to function normally, influence is needed in the economic part. In this way, I learned that economic sociology is a big part of society. In particular, it was interesting to note that the meaning and role of economic sociology became wider in modern times, and that more diverse figures were trying to analyze and develop economic sociology.

3) Question

What is the difference between economic sociology and socioeconomics?
