W.6.2 KIMNAKYOUNG 김나경
1.summary
The economy was close to survival and arose from social relations through exchange. These exchanges are the result of pursuing public or private interests. As society grew, the economy grew, capitalism, and industrial revolution emerged. In the flow of capitalism, there were phenomena such as industrialization, division of labor, mechanization, monopoly, panic, etc. These phenomena were all interactions with commodities, means of production, labor, land, and money, and are affected by demand, supply, and competition. In capitalist countries, individuals are guaranteed maximum freedom, both economically and socially. But this capitalism is also seen as another way to create and maintain social inequality. On the contrary, socialism is explained an equal society through equal access to the resources of all individuals. In socialist countries, most things, such as production and distribution, are determined by the government. It is criticized for not guaranteeing freedom.
2. interesting point
I thought a lot as I read about the history and criticism of capitalism and socialism. Capitalism guarantees freedom, but it is differentially distributed among people. It is said that differential distribution stems from equity, but it may be considered unfair to some. In socialism, it has been criticized for not guaranteeing people’s freedom, although the same distribution is made to everyone. Then I wondered if complete freedom and true equality could coexist within society. I also thought about what true equality is here. Many concepts can arise depending on how you look at equality from. Is it equality to give all the same, or is it equality to distribute differentially according to the conditions... The keyword ‘equality’ was the most interesting point for me.
3. discussion
What do you think is true equality and do you think true equality can actually be realized in society?
