W6.1 Sociology of religion
1. Summary
Religious sociology is the study of urgency, practice, and organizational forms using sociological methods. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Emil Durchem and Max Weber explained theories about religious sociology. First of all, Emil Durchem argued that he was positivist and that religion was an expression of unity. And the religious system is increasingly focused on individual salvation and conscience. Conversely, Max Weber published his paper through economic sociology, not positivism. He argued that religious acts themselves should be understood in terms, saying religion shapes an individual's view of the world. The text also describes the sociological classification of religious movements. Among sociologists, religious groups are divided into sects, sects, and cults. Sections are attractive to the weak in society, and cults are said to be highly tense because they are religious movements that focus on supernatural phenomena.
2.New point
I found the contents of secularization and civil religion fresh. In America, people in various fields accept secularism. First of all, when it comes to secularization, the economy will be the first to emerge. Martin is said to have suggested removing it from the social science unit because secularization has only contributed to the purpose and there is no evidence that human history has changed from religious Siden to secular times. In addition to Martin, Brian and Michelle Foucault have also learned new things about secularization theory related to religion.
3.Question
How relevant do you think secularism is to religion?
