W5.1 Free-culture movement

1. Summary

The free cultural movement is not to compensate the original producer of the creation, but to allow it to be freely distributed and modified. The movement argues that excessive copyright laws hinder creativity. The organization associated with free culture is Creative Commons (cc), which emphasizes the economic, artistic and social damage caused by the distribution monopoly and allows it to be freely distributed. The free cultural movement expanded from the field of software to all cultural and creative work. The free music movement, part of the free culture, began in early 1994 with the popularity of the web in free music philosophy and tried to encourage the spread of unlimited reproduction.

2. Interesting point

I took it for granted that the creation was not allowed as an individual's, but it was interesting that there was a backlash against it. Knowing that each person has a different perspective, the position that copyrights should be protected was solid, but if all the creations were protected and not viewed after reading the article, it was difficult to find the materials and information I am referring to now, so I thought it was high. Therefore, I came to agree with Stallman's opinion that practical works are free, that works with perspectives can be shared but cannot be changed, and that there should be copyright on art.

3. Question

Do you also think that the minimum standard for freedom within the free cultural movement is insufficient?
